The minimal promoter of FoxC (REG00001205) drives the expression of a dominant negative form of Emx in the palps lineage. This constitutive repressor form consists in the DNA-binding domain fused to the WRPW repressor motif. The DNA-binding domain of Emx was amplified with the oligos Emx DBD NheF: TAATGCTAGCTTATTGATGGCGAATCCATTTC and Emx DBD SpeR: TAATACTAGTGCTACCTTTCTCTTCGATTC, and cloned upstream of the WRPW repression domain as described (Stolfi et al., 2011).
